Good Morning Team SALL!
We hope this finds you safe, healthy and fully rested after a long holiday weekend.
I wanted to take a moment to thank the parents and coaches who participated in our discussion last evening. I am grateful for the open honest conversation as we navigate these ever changing times. I also wanted to take a moment to update you on some of that discussion as well.
As a board we elected to suspend game play this week till Thursday evening at Midnight. Your team will be eligible to practice however home games have been cancelled. Contact your Coach should you have any questions when and where you play or practice this week.
We have also elected to have Coaches wearing masks on the field whenever a 6FT social distance cannot be maintained. This would be in addition to the existing safe play guidelines. This is also for Coaches only, we are NOT expecting children to wear masks on the field.
We have also worked out better procedures in the event a player or family member reports to us they are sick. When we are notified of a potential sickness with a player or a player’s family member we, as a board, we will immediately notify the player’s team of the potential risk. At that time, it will be at the discretion of the families as well as the coach should they want to move forward with games or practices, without the at risk player. We will ask the player or family member to report back a negative test result to resume play with the team. In the event of a positive test result, we will suspend play for the entire team, as well as notify any team that player may have been in contact with. This Suspension will last until the entire team’s players and family members have been cleared by a medical professional. Last, if you are traveling to any of the 15 hot spots with a recommended 14 day self quarantine we ask that you follow those guidelines. Should there be a circumstance where you believe to be healthy we ask that there is approval from coaches as well as families from the rest of the team before you return to play.
Raffle tickets start to be available the week of July 13th. We will get them distributed as quickly as possible. Including the families that have opted out for the 2020 season. More information will be available once we have the tickets in hand.
Please let us know as soon as possible should you want to play on a tournament team over the summer and fall. We are starting to get those teams geared up to play in tournaments.
Please keep the emails and comments coming! I understand everyone’s frustration and we want to do everything we can to make Shaler Area Little League the best it can be.
